Starbucks Will Pay You to Travel the World and Talk About Coffee

by joeheg

Love coffee? Love to travel? Got a knack for creating content that gets people to stop scrolling? Then Starbucks might have your dream job.

The coffee giant is launching a search for two Global Coffee Creators—one internal (a current Starbucks employee) and one external content creator—to travel the world and share stories about Starbucks’ coffee sourcing, roasting, and brewing through social media.

What’s the Job?

According to Starbucks’ official announcement, this is a 12-month, full-time position. The selected creators will document their experiences across Starbucks’ global coffee journey—from the farms where beans are grown to the cafes that serve them.

You’ll post primarily on TikTok and Instagram, showcasing the people, places, and coffee behind the brand.

What You’ll Be Doing

This isn’t just about sipping a latte with a scenic backdrop. Starbucks wants creators who can:

  • Travel to 10–15 Starbucks locations around the world over one year
  • Capture the local culture, community, and café atmosphere
  • Highlight regional menu items and specialty drinks
  • Interview customers and baristas and share their stories
  • Create, pitch, edit, and publish engaging video content
  • Collaborate with Starbucks’ global marketing team to stay aligned with brand goals

In short, you’ll be both creator and storyteller—on the road and on camera.

Who They’re Looking For

This isn’t a starter gig. Starbucks is looking for someone with:

  • A strong background in content creation and editing
  • Experience with platforms like TikTok and Instagram, and tools like Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Photoshop, or Premiere
  • Creativity and storytelling chops that fit a social-first strategy
  • Cross-cultural awareness, the ability to work independently, and comfort representing a global brand
  • A genuine passion for coffee, travel, and exploring new cultures
  • And yes, a healthy knowledge of the Starbucks brand and its global community

What’s in It for You?

Besides the obvious perks of travel and caffeine, this is a paid position, with a salary ranging from $80,100 to $136,000 annually, plus benefits.

Travel costs are covered—Delta Air Lines and Marriott Bonvoy are official partners, providing flights and hotel stays as you explore coffee destinations around the world.

How to Apply

To be considered, post a public video on TikTok between May 28 and June 13, explaining why you’re the perfect fit for the job. Be sure to include the hashtag #StarbucksGlobalCoffeeCreator in your caption. Then complete the application form on the Starbucks Career website.

One position is open to external applicants, while the other is reserved for a current Starbucks partner (employee).

Is This a Fit for You?

We’ll admit it—we enjoy our Starbucks, even while traveling (here’s why). And yes, we technically have an Instagram account (it’s here), but we’re more blog-post-and-longform than reels-and-edits. So this opportunity isn’t quite up our alley.

But if you:

  • Can produce short-form video content with professional polish
  • Know your way around editing tools and social storytelling
  • Have a passion for travel, culture, and (of course) coffee…

You might just be who they’re looking for.

Final Thoughts

It’s rare to see a paid content gig with this kind of structure, support, and global reach. If you’ve got the skills, the passport, and the passion—grab your phone, hit record, and tell Starbucks why you’re their next Global Coffee Creator.

And if you do land the job? Let us know. We’ll be following your journey—Flat White in hand.
