Earn 5X Points or 4% Back with These New Chase Spending Offers

by joeheg

Chase frequently sends out targeted spending offers for its co-branded credit cards, often tied to specific categories like gas stations, grocery stores, or internet and cable bills. These limited-time promotions are usually easy to enroll in and can be a great way to earn extra points or cash back for spending you were already planning to do.

In fact, they released a new round of offers in July—but I completely missed them. By the time I noticed, the promotional period had already started, and I had to play catch-up.

Ritz-Carlton Card

This time, we received a bonus offer on my wife Sharon’s Ritz-Carlton Card.

With this offer, we can earn 5X Marriott Bonvoy points on purchases at:

  • Gas Stations
  • Grocery Stores
  • Restaurants

Southwest Cards

Sharon’s Southwest Plus and my Southwest Priority Card received identical offers.

As far as Chase spending offers go, this is an unusual one. Instead of offering bonus Southwest points, they are offering a 4% statement credit, worth up to $40 on purchases at grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants.

These are the same categories from the Ritz-Carlton Card offer.

IHG One Rewards

Of our four IHG cards, only one of them received a spending offer this time, and it was my legacy IHG Select card.

With this offer, we can earn 5X IHG points on purchases at:

  • Gas Stations
  • Grocery Stores
  • Restaurants

Checking Your Cards

If you haven’t received an email yet, don’t worry—you have until September 30, 2025 to register. Once enrolled, you’ll earn bonus points or cashback on eligible purchases through September 30th.

If you’d rather not wait for an email, you can check eligibility for any of your Chase cards by visiting https://www.chase.com/mybonus and entering your last name, ZIP code, and the last 4 digits of your card number.

Still No Hyatt Offers?

Unfortunately, some of our cards didn’t receive any offers this round. For example, our World of Hyatt, Ink Cash and Sapphire Preferred cards showed the dreaded “no offer available” message.

Comparing the Offers

Each of these Chase offers applies to the same everyday spending categories—gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants—but the value you get varies depending on which card you’re using:

  • Ritz-Carlton Card: 5X Marriott Bonvoy points
  • IHG One Rewards Select: 5X IHG One Rewards points
  • Southwest Plus & Priority Cards: 4% statement credit (up to $40), stacking with regular earnings

On the surface, both the Marriott and IHG offers look the same—5X points on the same categories—but the real-world value of those points differs. Marriott Bonvoy points are generally worth more than IHG One Rewards points, with most valuations putting Marriott points around 0.7 cents each, while IHG points tend to hover closer to 0.5 cents. That makes the Ritz-Carlton offer slightly more valuable if you’re comparing the hotel cards head-to-head.

But the standout is the Southwest offer. While it doesn’t offer bonus points, it gives a 4% statement credit on top of the points you already earn:

  • Southwest Plus: 2X Rapid Rewards points at grocery stores
  • Southwest Priority: 2X at restaurants
  • Both cards: 2X at gas stations

That means you’re effectively double-dipping: earning your usual Rapid Rewards points and getting a 4% rebate on your statement. And with Southwest points being worth at least 1 cent per point, this is more than a 5% return, possibly approaching 7% back.

We’ll be shifting some of our restaurant and gas spending to the Southwest cards to take advantage of the statement credit while still racking up Rapid Rewards points. As always, your best card depends on your travel goals—but free money and points are hard to beat.
