He Dumped Her, So She Turned His Name Into An Airline – And THEY Had Something to Say About That

by SharonKurheg

Although I don’t personally have any tattoos, I know plenty of people who do. And some of them have plenty of tattoos. And that’s fine. I mean, I have nothing against tattoos; they’re just not anything I’ve ever wanted. They’re just so…permanent.

A woman in England probably should have considered that fact when she decided to get her boyfriend’s name tattooed not long ago.

According to multiple UK-based social media sites, Katie Allan got her then-boyfriend’s name inked onto her right hip. Her reasoning was he bet her she wouldn’t do it – and she describes herself as “stubborn.” From an interview Allan did on TikTok:

Lesson #1 – Never get tattoos on a bet.

Unfortunately for Allan, age 22, the romance didn’t last and the two of them broke up in July, 2025.

Lesson #2 – Don’t get a tattoo of someone’s name if you’re not damn sure you’re going to spend your life with them. And even then, breakups happen. Because reasons.

So Ryan was gone and Allan was stuck with a tattoo of his name on her hip. Great.

She talked with some friends, trying to figure out how she could camouflage the “Ryan” on her hip, so she wouldn’t have to think about him every time she (or someone else LOL) saw it. They eventually came up with the plan to change the name from “Ryan” to “Ryanair.”

“Me and the girls were thinking of cover ups and then we thought, ‘what if we didn’t even cover it, what if we added ‘air’ to it and turned it into Ryanair?’ Allan explained.

It was apparently kismet because, as Allan said, “As soon as me and him broke up I booked a flight with Ryanair so it just made sense.”

Sure, makes total sense…

Anyway, here’s the whole story on TikTok.

Meanwhile, the whole story went viral, and Ryanair got wind of it. Their response was typical Ryanair. From Twitter:

So let this be a lesson to you, friends. Don’t get tattoos that you’re not 100% you’ll be happy with for the rest of your life. And don’t expect Ryanair to not pop in when given the opportunity! 😉
