The cheapest airline for domestic flights in every state
Courtesy of the good folks from CashNetUSA, they figured out the average price per mile for each airline across all routes for all officially designated hub airports in the US (as defined by the FAA).

I found this one fascinating. It’s not enough to only be from a state; you probably barely even notice, but you’re also part of a cultural region.
The largest rise & fall of housing markets in the U.S. (2022-2025)
Places that were hot to buy houses in a few years ago might not be doing so well anymore. Take a look:
Median full-time salary by state
Visual Capitalist developed this map – they used the Census Bureau, American Community survey 2024 1-year estimates.
Life expectancy, per state
Jeremy Ney used GHDX to determine what the average life expectancy is in each state.
Concentration of Mexican restaurants by state
Maptitude figured this one out and it just made me laugh out loud! Here’s the number of Mexican restaurants, per state, per a population of 100,000:

This is from 2022 – updated and well-being scores from the 50 U.S. states, from the Journal of Intelligence.
Largest Ancestry in each state
This one has undoubtedly changed because they gathered their information from the 2000 census. Lots has potentially changed since then. But still…it’s a fun read.
Guilty as charged, I guess?
