IHG One Rewards 100% Bonus on Purchased Points — Ends October 29, 2025

by joeheg

IHG One Rewards is back with a strong sale on purchased points. During this promo, you can buy up to 300,000 points and receive a 100% bonus (for a total of up to 600,000 points). That pushes your effective cost to about 0.5¢ per point when you hit the top tier.

Offer ends October 29, 2025.

Offer Details

  • Bonus: 100% on purchased IHG One Rewards points.
  • End date: October 29, 2025 (11:59 p.m. ET).
  • Price example: 300,000 points cost $3,000 and yield 600,000 total after the 100% bonus (effective 0.5¢ per point).
  • Targeting: Most members are seeing the 100% offer, but log in to confirm your personal offer and thresholds.

Bonus Tiers and Pricing

Here’s a look at the current bonus structure for this IHG One Rewards sale:

  • 1,000 – 10,000 points: No bonus (points cost 1.35¢ each)
  • 11,000 – 25,000 points: 100% bonus (points cost 0.575¢ each)
  • 26,000 – 300,000 points: 100% bonus (points cost 0.5¢ each)

As you can see, the optimal purchase rate of 0.5¢ per point kicks in once you buy at least 26,000 points. To maximize value, you’ll want to purchase between 26,000 and 300,000 points — that’s where the 100% bonus applies and you’re getting IHG points at their lowest possible price.

Important: Based on what we’ve seen (both personally and from reader reports), the offer can vary from member to member — sometimes even the minimum number of points required to unlock the 100% bonus is different. Make sure to log in to your IHG One Rewards account to see your personalized offer — some members report needing to buy 40,000 points to unlock the lowest price, while others see the 0.5¢ rate begin at 26,000 points, like I did.

Important: Annual Purchase Limits (and the Promo Exception)

Under IHG’s standard rules, members may purchase a maximum of 200,000 points per calendar year. However, during this Offer Period, IHG is allowing members to purchase up to 300,000 points. Your actual cap depends on how many points you’ve already purchased this calendar year. For example, if you previously bought 50,000 points in 2025, you can purchase up to 250,000 more during the promo and receive the applicable bonus on just those points bought now.

Should You Buy?

Buying hotel points isn’t always a slam dunk, but IHG is one of the few programs where we routinely find redemptions above 0.5¢ per point. At this promo price, you’re effectively locking in that “floor.” If you already have a stay in mind that prices out higher than 0.5¢/pt, this can be a smart move.

Our Recent Real-World Wins

  • Kimpton Hotel Theta (NYC) — We booked four nights for 173,000 points (nightly rates were 55,000, 66,000, and 52,000 points, with the 4th night free thanks to the IHG card perk). Standard cash rates were $300+ per night, so this was comfortably above 0.5¢/pt.
Note: Even on an award stay, we were charged a $47.04 nightly destination fee.
  • InterContinental Miami — Area hotels were running $250–$300+ a night. The IC priced at 49,000 points per night (≈ $245 at 0.5¢/pt). We used points bought in a previous 100% sale and received 10% of the redeemed points back from the legacy IHG Select card.

But there’s no restriction on where you can use points, from a Holiday Inn Express to a Crowne Plaza. It’s possible to find value across all IHG brands.

Why Buy Points vs. Transfer?

IHG partners with programs like Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt, but we rarely transfer those flexible points to IHG because we value UR/Bilt more highly for airline transfers or portal bookings. If we can buy IHG at ~0.5¢, we’d rather buy IHG points during 100% sales and save our flexible currencies for outsized uses elsewhere.

Stackable Card Perks That Improve Value

  • IHG One Rewards Premier Card: 4th night free on award stays of 4+ nights.
  • Legacy IHG Select Card (discontinued): 10% of redeemed points back.

These perks stack. Book four nights using 25% fewer points and still get 10% of those redeemed points back — a powerful combo when you’re buying points at 0.5¢.

Bottom Line

If you have an IHG stay in mind in the next year (especially a pricier city-center or upscale property) and can beat 0.5¢/pt on redemption, this 100% bonus is a great way to reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Just remember, dynamic pricing can move around, some properties charge mandatory fees even on award stays, and your promo cap depends on how many points you’ve already purchased this calendar year.

If you plan to buy, don’t wait — this 100% bonus sale ends October 29, 2025Visit the IHG One Rewards points purchase page.
