Just One Spending Offer from Chase This Quarter—And It Was an Unexpected One

by joeheg

Chase is known for sending out targeted quarterly spending offers for its co-branded credit cards. These promotions usually focus on everyday categories like groceries, gas stations, and restaurants, and they require you to enroll before any bonus earnings will count. Even if you qualify, nothing happens unless you activate the offer first.

We always check our accounts when a new round is expected, especially since the previous quarter’s offers ended on September 30. But this time, we almost missed it—because between my wife Sharon and me, we only received one offer each.

The Only Targeted Card: IHG One Rewards Select

Of all the Chase cards we hold—Southwest, Marriott, Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, Disney, and multiple IHG cards—the only ones that got offers were our old IHG Select cards. Not the Premier versions. Not the newer cards. Just the Select cards, which you can’t even apply for anymore.

The offer gives you 5X total IHG One Rewards points on up to $1,000 in combined purchases at:

  • Grocery Stores
  • Gas Stations
  • Restaurants

That’s not 5X on top of what you already earn—it’s 5X total. Since the IHG Select card usually earns 2X in these categories, the offer effectively adds an extra 3X for the duration of the promo.

This Offer’s Been Live for a Month Already

Here’s the kicker: this promotion has been active since October 1. I completely missed it when it launched—I must have skimmed over the email, assuming it was leftover language from the Q3 offers. With only one card getting targeted, it just didn’t jump out at me the way the previous round of offers (which included Ritz-Carlton and Southwest cards) did.

Check Your Chase Cards

If you haven’t received an email, you can still check manually. Head to https://www.chase.com/mybonus and enter your last name, ZIP code, and the last 4 digits of your card.

Make sure to activate by December 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET. If you’re eligible, you’ll earn bonus points on qualifying purchases made any time between October 1 and December 31—retroactively applied after activation.

Final Thoughts

This was one of the quietest quarters we’ve seen for Chase spending offers. No love for our IHG Premier, Hyatt, Sapphire Preferred, or any of the cards that usually show up in these promotions. Just one targeted card each—and oddly enough, both were the discontinued IHG Select.

If you’ve kept one of these cards around for the anniversary night or the 10% rebate, this promo is a nice little bonus. But it’s a strange move from Chase, especially after a strong previous round that included Southwest and Ritz-Carlton offers. We’ll be watching closely to see if Q1 2026 brings back broader coverage.
