Apple Card Now Offers 3% Daily Cash at Hertz — Plus New Rental Benefits

by joeheg

Apple has added a new travel perk for Apple Card users who rent cars through Hertz.

Apple Card holders now earn 3% Daily Cash back when paying for Hertz rentals using Apple Pay (either in the Hertz app or on Hertz.com).

In addition, through a dedicated Apple Card → Hertz offer page, cardholders receive extra Hertz rental benefits (fulfilled by Hertz):

Apple Card email announcing 3% Daily Cash and Hertz benefits

  • Free emergency roadside service
  • Discounted Loss Damage Waiver (LDW/CDW) — $16.95 per day (plus tax)
  • Free additional driver at pickup
  • At least 5% off Pay Later base rates

You can access the offer here (this specific link is required to unlock the extra benefits):

Requirements

  1. Use Apple Pay at checkout. (Using the Apple Card number without Apple Pay will not trigger 3% Daily Cash.)
  2. Book through the Apple/Hertz landing page (booking directly on Hertz.com without the link will not include the additional benefits).

Why This Matters

The Apple Card does not include rental car insurance as a built-in benefit. Some cardholders may not have premium travel cards that provide primary rental coverage, or they may not have personal auto insurance. In those cases, being able to add LDW at a discounted rate instead of paying the full counter price can be a meaningful savings.

For a no-annual-fee card, this adds practical value:

  • 3% Daily Cash back
  • Lower-cost rental coverage option
  • A free additional driver
  • Roadside assistance available

Where Else You Can Earn 3% With Apple Card

Hertz joins Apple’s existing group of 3% Daily Cash partners, which includes merchants like Apple, Walgreens, Uber, Nike, and others, when using Apple Pay.

Final Thought

For a card with no annual fee, this is a useful addition. While frequent travelers may prefer using a card that includes primary rental coverage, the Apple Card enhancement gives casual renters an easy way to save money and earn cash back — especially if they don’t have another rewards card that includes rental benefits.
