I’ve seen a lot of oddball, quirky travel surveys in my time, but I think this one takes the cake. Booking.com reports that, as per their findings of a recent survey, women find men to be more sexually appealing when the guys have done the booking for a vacation.
Now, aphrodisiacs have been around since ancient civilizations. Humans have apparently always looked for ways to make their sex lives better, be it through certain foods, vitamins, additives, you name it. But according to a survey reportedly done for Booking.com, a guy who takes the lead and books a trip for him and his partner of choice can be a major turn on for his lady.
The online travel agency says they surveyed 1000 respondents in October 2025. And based on their findings, 93% of American women report that having their partner take the reins on trip planning is a major turn-on. In fact, they said it’s even “more attractive than a good physique or a big paycheck.” Even better (or worse, depending on your perspective), 56% say their partner booking a trip is just as arousing, if not more, than foreplay.
What American women said in the survey:
- 68% of American women believe they would be happier if their partners occasionally booked getaways for them to take together.
- 93% of them say that a fully booked vacation offered as a surprise is sexy.
- 93% say they’d be more likely to give extra affection if their partner booked a trip without being asked.
- Despite all of this, half of the women surveyed said their significant other has never booked a trip for them.
What American men said in the survey:
- 89% admit they could take more initiative in planning trips for their partners.
- About a quarter of those surveyed admitted that planning travel overwhelms them and they’d just as soon avoid it.
- Two‑thirds said they’d be more likely to book if they knew extra affection was on the itinerary. (hey guys…guess what 93% of the women said???)
What can be considered in between the lines
I think there are plenty of things, not taken into consideration in the survey.
Who enjoys the planning more?
Before my husband and I became a couple, we each planned our own travel. But after we were married, it became obvious that he enjoyed the planning process much more than I did. So I let him take the reins for the bulk of our travel.
Who’s better at it?
Going back to my husband and me, Joe is also the points and miles hobbyist in the family, so it would make more sense for him to take the lead on planning flights and hotels, since he has a working knowledge of what credit card would be best to use, where we can use Amex points, which hotels we can use our free night certificates in, etc.
In a modern-day family, there may be one adult who’s just better at planning, period. There’s a fairly long process between “let’s go on vacation” and having everything done so that they actually DO go on that vacation. Honed executive function skills can go a long way.
Who has more time to plan?
Sometimes it’s not a matter of who enjoys the planning as much as who has more time to plan. Granted, I’m going back to a very different time, but my mother, a stay-at-home mom, planned all of our family vacations because she had more free time than my father, who worked full time, did. But even nowadays, one person having an extra hour or two per week could be the best reason for that person to plan the vacation.
What about planning together?
Personally, I think planning a vacation together is going to make a couple closer. Both people have input on what they like and dislike, what they want to do or not. Making sure you’re both on the same page and don’t have some wild expectations that are totally off base (read: if Joe ever booked us a trip to the Maldives, he knows what he’d have coming – and it wouldn’t be good). Good stuff like that.
Is Booking.com’s survey on the mark?
Well, I think that 1000 people is a very small survey. And they didn’t really go into the nitty-gritty of their questions (they seriously said their methodology was “Based on survey results commissioned by Booking.com. Survey participants consisted of 1,000 U.S. respondents, age 18 or older who are in a romantic relationship. Fielding took place in October 2025.“) – That doesn’t go into a whole lot of detail.
They also partnered the survey report with a booking experience Booking.com was doing with Grammy-nominated Teddy Swims.
So IS it on the mark? Maybe there’s some truth to it. But I think each couple’s circumstances are as individualized as the couple.
But hey guys…if planning the trip miiiight get you some bow-chicky-bow-bow…maybe it’s worth a shot?
Here’s Booking.com’s take on it.
