Starting February 1, 2025, Wyndham Rewards members who earn Diamond status through the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business card will no longer be able to match it to Caesars Rewards Diamond status. This is a significant change, especially for those who used the card as a gateway to lucrative casino perks.
For years, the card’s ability to match Caesars Rewards Diamond status was a game-changer for savvy travelers. It unlocked benefits like waived resort fees at Caesars properties, priority lines, free show tickets, and even free cruises through casino partnerships, making the card a favorite among those who could leverage the status-match system.
However, while this change is a big deal for casino enthusiasts, it hasn’t diminished the card’s value for my travel habits. We’ve found Wyndham Rewards points incredibly useful, especially for trips in peak season. For example, this summer, we used points to stay at a Wingate by Wyndham in Texas that was charging over $200 per night thanks to this card. And with more than 9,000 Wyndham properties worldwide, there’s no shortage of opportunities to redeem points for stays that fit any budget or travel style.
Why the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card Still Shines
Even without the casino perks, this card remains a powerhouse for earning Wyndham Rewards points and getting ongoing value:
- 8X Points on Gas Purchases and Hotels by Wyndham
- 5X Points on Utilities, Marketing, and Advertising
- 1X Points on Everything Else
- 15,000 Anniversary Bonus Points Each Year: This bonus offsets the $95 annual fee and is enough for up to two free nights at Wyndham’s lower-tier properties.
The card also comes with Wyndham Rewards Diamond status, which includes:
- Suite upgrades when available
- Late checkout
- Welcome amenities
- Bonus points on stays
These perks make the card incredibly useful for anyone who frequently stays at Wyndham properties or values free travel opportunities.
Should You Keep the Card?
While the Caesars match was an exciting benefit, the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business card was never just about that. It excels as a points-earning tool and continues to offer significant value for frequent travelers, road warriors, and budget-conscious adventurers.
This change may feel like a dealbreaker if you used the card primarily for the casino match. But for everyone else—especially those who value Wyndham Rewards points for hotel stays—the card is still a standout option. With its high earning potential, generous anniversary bonus, and ongoing Wyndham Diamond status, it’s hard to find a card that provides this much value for a $95 annual fee.
