American Airlines, the world’s largest airline, announced last week that it’s launching new shuttle flights between Chicago and New York City. That’s good news for those who travel between the two cities for work or pleasure, but what’s even better news is that they will offer complementary beer and wine service to shuttle passengers who are in coach class.
Yep…FREE BOOZE!
As per Americans’ website, the benefits of their shuttle service include:
- Dedicated check-in kiosks and ticket counters
- Boarding gates close to security and the curb
- Quick deplaning from front or rear door*
- Free snack basket, beer, wine and spirits in First
- Free plated meals in First on Chicago flights
- Free snacks, beer and wine in Main Cabin
See that last one? Pretty cool, huh? “When you fly frequently for work, anything that can make the regular commute more comfortable is important,” said Alison Taylor, American Airlines’ senior vice president of global sales and distribution.
The flights between O’Hare International and LaGuardia Airports will join the ranks of American’s other shuttle routes:
Delta Air Lines already offers complimentary craft beer and wine, along with Starbucks coffee, tea, Coca-Cola products and a free newspaper to all passengers on its shuttle flights. United had no comment when asked if they planned to step up their game.
American says there will be 15 new shuttles on this route every weekday, which will fly every 30 minutes. The new shuttle service, which will be comprised of Boeing 737s, will begin on April 4, 2018.
