But what happens when you crash a Renault Clio into a Boeing 737-800 owned by Ryanair? Welp, that one really just happened. Read on…
The incident occurred on April 12th, at the Alicante Airport in Spain. Pilot instructor and airline investigator Iván Castro Palacios reported about it on Twitter:

The vehicle belongs to GroundForce, a Spanish handling, cargo and GSE equipment services operator offering ground support services in airports in Spain, Morocco and Mexico. They usually cover airport-related services such as:
- Passenger Services
- Ramp Services
- Operations and Load Control
- Cargo Services
Anyway, according to AirLive the driver of the GroundForce car forgot to apply the parking brake. This, in turn, caused the driverless supermini car to roll by itself towards the parked 737 and crash into the belly of the plane.
Fortunately, there were no passengers inside the aircraft at the time of the collision.
There were no injuries reported.
The event appeared to cause only some minor cosmetic damage to the aircraft. However, it was taken to the maintenance facility for inspection, to ensure there were no safety issues due to the crash with the car.
After the specialists made sure everything was OK, Ryanair’s Boeing 737-800 commenced its trip from Alicante to Manchester, UK with only a 90-minute delay.
No word on the condition of the car. But I bet that driver will never forget to use the parking brake again…
