Happy Sunday to all of our travel friends, near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Nick from Frequent Miler shares a tale about how an extended family vacation at a beautiful resort became a travel nightmare. The hotel they were staying at went above and beyond to help the entire family and earned the Hilton hotel chain a loyal customer.
- Seth on Wandering Aramean wrote about travel problems when connecting through Atlanta during thunderstorm season. Living in Florida, we’re familiar with flight delays from weather and we’ve done several sprints through ATL including one on my Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad travel day.
- Gary from View From The Wing booked tickets on American for someone else and he found out what choosing a seat is like for the rest of us without status.
- Zach from The Points Guy noticed that Uber has changed the way it applies the AMEX Platinum credit to your account. Problem is, they forgot to tell everyone it’s not automatically applied anymore. Oops!
- There’s an interesting article in LinkedIn directed towards travel agents who are avoiding sending clients to Myanmar. It’s an interesting read about how perceptions on tourism can change the entire economy of a country. My dad and his wife spent several weeks there on their honeymoon and had nothing but good things to say about the country and its people.
- I’m always one to read a good rant and RoadWarriorette has a really good one about people who wear their backpacks when walking down the aisle of the airplane.
- We’ve talked about staying at a capsule hotel but would you stay in a 72 square foot room. Ric from Loyalty Traveler did on his recent trip to Iceland and it’s a interesting tale.
- Lucky writes on One Mile At A Time about his recent experiences with American Airlines and how they to seem to be incapable to respect the time of their passengers. After our most recent flights with American, he seems to hit the point right on the head with this post.
- Bloomberg News had an article asking how the best sushi restaurant in Washington D.C. is frequently empty.
