I Need To Plan Some Trips ASAP!

by joeheg

It’s the time of the year when we need to decide our travel schedule for the following year. This is a necessary task because my work obligations make me put in for coverage if I want an entire week, or two, away from my job. The good thing about this is it forces Sharon and I to decide where we want to travel, Right now this is especially important because we don’t have any trips planned in 2019. What?!?!?!?! We need to fix that ASAP!

Now, we have “ideas” about what we want to go and when we want to go but it’s a different thing to set a date. It’s helpful because it was at this time last year we finally firmed up dates for our overdue visit New Orleans (where we had a parade to celebrate).

When I went to the gym, I was always told to make a plan and then make it happen. So here are our plans for next year.

New York

We just got confirmation that we’ll be able to sing in New York again next year. This trip is always a highlight for us and it’s now officially on the calendar. W00T!!

New Braunfels

We already purchased out Schlitterbahn annual passes so one, or more likely two trips back to Texas are on the calendar for next year.

Puerto Rico

If you’re been reading here for a while, you know we’re all about Hamilton. If we can swing getting tickets, we’re going to head to Puerto Rico to see the show.

(or) Cuba

If we can’t make Puerto Rico work, we’re going to look at going back to Cuba. The easiest way for us to do so would be on a cruise, so that’s what we’re looking into right now.

While that may seem like a lot, there’s one more trip we’d like to take – it’s another one of Sharon’s Unicorn trips. I have no idea how I’m going to make it happen, but I’m sure gonna try.

German Christkindlmarkt

Yeah, big surprise. Sharon wants to visit the German Christmas Marketplaces. If you’ve seen how she decorates the house for Christmas (*cough* Christmas Tree #1 [of 3] is already up *cough*), you wouldn’t be shocked at all.

We’ve been talking about going to Germany for a long time and there seems to be no better time for us than the Christmas season. I have no idea about any of this but if Sharon wants to go, I love the job of having to make it happen. I already floated the idea of connecting to Germany through JFK so we could spend a day at the TWA hotel  since it will be open by then, and she seemed interested in the idea.

Final Thought

I guess that’s a good start for our travels in 2019. I’m already looking towards 2020 and going back to Japan to see the Olympics. I told my boss about that trip so she wouldn’t be surprised about the vacation request next year.
