Happy Sunday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Loyalty Lobby shared an article about how it might not be a great idea to check that $1,000 suitcase as it may disappear off the baggage claim belt before it gets to you. You see, two people were arrested at Bangkok Airport trying to leave with three suitcases that weren’t theirs.
- Gary from View from The Wing shared a story about United’s CEO Oscar Munoz giving up his seat in first class to an elderly passenger. While the airline has had its problems, Mr. Munoz has often come across as a decent person IRL. Pity he couldn’t get it to rub off on the rest of his employees.
- Some stories fly under my radar so I was surprised to see Lucky on One Mile At A Time write about a viral thread from the internet about a Grindr chat between a pilot and passenger that supposedly happened during the flight. Lucky dissects the story to see if it has the ring of truth or are there gaping holes that just can’t be filled.
- Jeremiah from Laughing Place is currently on an Adventures by Disney trip to South Africa. If that wasn’t exciting enough, he’s in a group that includes the legendary veteran executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, Joe Rohde. Jeremiah is blogging about the experience and it’s a great read!
- Ric from Loyalty Traveler shared his review of the Best Western Plus Park Place Inn Anaheim, the ‘closest hotel to Disneyland’. He took advantage of the current promotion where any Best Western hotel only costs 10,000 points a night, making it a wonderful deal. We considered staying there when we visited Disneyland but went for the Candy Cane Inn instead.
- Doctor of Credit put together an awesome credit card checklist of list of things to do before the end of the year. I’m going to look it over just to make sure I didn’t forget about anything before it’s too late.
- Joseph from Million Mile Secrets wrote about how American Airlines gate agents are taking away one of the perks from the American co-brand credit cards just by how they are boarding the planes.
- Scott made a visit back to MileValue to share a story about how a last minute Airbnb cancellation landed him in a Hilton hotel instead of staying in one bedroom of a three bedroom apartment.
