Google Has Pinpointed The Perfect Spot For Selfies At Top U.K. Tourist Attractions

If you go to Great Britain in the future and want to take the perfect selfie, Google has got you covered.

The data processing powerhouse worked with a team of social media experts to pinpoint the best places to stand at some of the most popular tourist attractions. To do this, they analyzed 80,000 Instagram posts of the U.K. to determine which attractions were the most popular. They then had a public vote to determine which were the peoples’ favorites (or in this case, favourites).

Once they know which sites people photographed the most and like the best, Google used the geographic location coordinates from the photos to figure out the exact spot for the best selfies:

To show how the concept works, Google posted a couple of photos of the “perfect” spots, and put markers on the ground to, well, mark them (But after they took their photo ops, they removed the markers, so big help they’ll be LOL!).

The research was done to celebrate the launch of the new Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones, which have Night Sight, Portrait Mode and, new to 3a, augmented reality maps, so you can find the perfect spot for those selfies. You know…so they don’t look like…ours…

That’ll teach us to us iPhones 😉
