Just when I thought I would maybe, possibly consider flying on Spirit, they graciously gave me another reason to go back to “Nope, no way, nuh-uh.”
There was a bat on a Spirit plane last week.
Yes! A BAT!
A passenger on a 6am flight from North Carolina to Newark caught footage of a bat that was flying back and forth on the plane and posted it on Twitter:

Another passenger, Peter Scattini, also posted footage of the event on his Twitter account:
(Heads up that this video has some mild adult language in print form)
me, twice a year: “i’ll never fly spirit again.”

Scattini said on Twitter that the bat started flying about 30 minutes into the flight and, “Eventually someone trapped it between a book & a cup and then locked it in one of the restrooms for the remainder of the trip.”
Spirit Airlines was interviewed by the Huffington Post and confirmed that a “stowaway bat” was on the flight and that it was, “removed once on the ground by animal control officers.”
“The aircraft was disinfected and searched as a precaution,” representative from Spirit said in a statement to HuffPo. “It is believed the bat started its journey in Charlotte, flying into an overhead bin while our crews were doing overnight maintenance.”
So yeah…Spirit? Nope. Not no way, not no how!
