Happy Wednesday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Chris from Point Me To The Plane wrote about expecting more in-flight turbulence when flying, due to climate change. I realize it’s a very serious subject but I still couldn’t help but think of this post, about how NOT to handle turbulence.
- Mike at CoWorkaholic was lamenting about the crappy WiFi at WDW (because it’s true) and gave some good ideas about coworking spaces near Disney that have much better internet access. Coincidentally enough, someone on our Facebook group also recently asked about renting a hub during her 2-month trip to the U.S. (she’s from Australia), and that could be another way to ensure you have decent WiFi during your travels…and you don’t even have to leave your hotel room! 😉
- Ryan from Miles To Memories wrote about how he wound up on Bank Of America’s blacklist for credit card applications because of some credit problems more than a decade ago. Yep, if you make some not-so-great choices, even when you’re “young and stupid,” it can come back to bite you in the butt. If you’re new to the points & miles world, assuming your credit is OK, here’s some good advice about how to get started earning P&M balances.
- We recently saw this on Twitter:
and yep, restaurants adding surcharges to help pay for employee health care is not only a thing, but it seems to be a growing thing (H/T to Gary from View From The Wing, who posted this picture first).
- Gilbert from God Save The Points posted a sweet story about what Virgin Atlantic did for a passenger, who had had a double mastectomy, whose bag didn’t make it with her on her visit to Barbados. I remember the time when an airline went above and beyond for those of us on the plane, but that was a long, long time ago and would never happen now. Besides, this was definitely more specialized and, I’m sure, much appreciated!
- I don’t know if this complaint was true or not, but it certainly reminded me of other ridiculous complaints tourists have made.
- Our friends at Travel Update wrote a post called Places I Want To Return To. Joe and I are huge proponents of visiting places again (and sometimes again. And AGAIN!). Doing so definitely has its advantages and its disadvantages.
Like this post? Please share it! We have plenty more just like it and would love if you decided to hang around and clicked the button on the top (if you’re on your computer) or the bottom (if you’re on your phone/tablet) of this page to follow our blog and get emailed notifications of when we post (it’s usually about 3 or 4 times a day). Or maybe you’d like to join our Facebook group, where we talk and ask questions about travel (including Disney parks), creative ways to earn frequent flyer miles and hotel points, how to save money on or for your trips, get access to travel articles you may not see otherwise, etc. Whether you’ve read our posts before or this is the first time you’re stopping by, we’re really glad you’re here and hope you come back to visit again!
