Happy Wednesday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Gilbert from God Save The Points gave some great exercises to do to help with circulation when you’re on a plane for long periods of time. The only addition I think would also be very good, especially if you’re at high risk, is to ask your doctor if these would be a good idea for you.
- Seth at Paxex.Aero wrote about the cuts this airline is making in catering and cleaning. Unfortunately, planes are filthy enough as it is and this sure as heck isn’t going to make things any better. But I guess we should be happy they’re still going to clean the lavatory since we know how much that’s already not done during flights. Ewww.
- Matthew at Live & Let’s Fly posted about how two Democratic Presidential candidates wound up on the same plane, one row behind the other. I don’t know why or how, but it reminded me of the other Democratic Presidential candidate that had been writing a travel blog of sorts. I hadn’t looked at his website in a while and sure enough, he’s still blogging! BTW, guess who photobombed a 2020 Presidential candidate not long ago? LOLOL!
- UK-based Thomas Cook travel company has been having some major recent financial problems, to the point where they’re in discussion with Fosun, a Chinese company that owns Club Med. If all works out well, Fosun would receive a 75% stake in Thomas Cook’s package tour division and a 25% holding in its airline business in exchange for £450m.
- Rene from Rene’s Points wrote about the airlines that mishandle the most baggage, as per the Philadelphia Inquirer. It’s funny because the stats were totally different when using the U.S. Dept of Transportation’s figures.
- Gary from View From The Wing wrote about how American Airlines is now serving hot dogs as part of its meal service in first class on select flights. HOT DOGS! I’m not sure if the hot dogs have been featured on the Instagram site that rates airplane food yet, but I suspect that any day now they’ll be on the website that tells you what your food will be on your flight…
- A politician from Nairobi has had to suffer through one too many gassy people while flying, so she is suggesting special training for crew and a review of the meals served on planes, to help decrease the amount of farting that happens while in flight. I suggest she read our post about the real reasons why people fart on planes.
- Ben (Lucky) from One Mile At A Mile wrote that Spirit was introducing seats that were said to be more comfortable. My first thought was, “Holy cow, did they invest in these seats that’ll probably make the middle seat more expensive?
