Hilton’s most recent promotion, called Points Unlimited, started on January 6th. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because that’s the same name Hilton used for their winter promotion in 2019. I’m not thrilled, because the Points Unlimited offer is one of the least rewarding of Hilton’s promotions out there, unless you’re a particular type of traveler.
Points Unlimited (2020),
The promotion, which runs from January 6th to May 3rd offers the following:
Registered Hilton Honors members will earn 2,000 Bonus Points per stay during the Promotion Period. Registered members will also receive an additional 10,000 Bonus Points for every 10 nights completed. The 10,000 Bonus Point award can be earned an unlimited number of times during the Promotion Period with this offer.
This is a slight tweak from the previous Points Unlimited promo in 2019. For that offer, you were able to earn 10K points for every 10 nights OR 5 stays.

Why don’t I like the Points Unlimited promo?
This is a disappointment compared to 2019’s Summer Go More, Get More offer, and much worse than the Power Up offer that just finished.

I stayed 15 nights at a Hampton Inn at JFK Airport for work.
With the Power Up promotion, which offered 2x points on all stays, I earned an extra 32,850 points. If I were staying during the Points Unlimited offer, I would have made 12,000 points (2K for 1 stay and 10K for 10 nights). That a 2.7x decrease in points.
Who is the offer good for?
Since the offer now only offers a bonus for the number of nights and not the number of stays, it’s the most rewarding for those who often stay at inexpensive Hilton properties. It would make sense to try and stay for a multiple of 10 nights because that’s when you’ll get the 10K extra points. If you stay 19 nights, too bad.
Also, offering 2K bonus points to someone staying at a Conrad or Waldorf Astoria property and paying $500 a night is insulting.
Final Thoughts
Of course, you should still sign up for this promotion. If Hilton is giving away extra points, you need to take them. I just don’t see this one driving much new business to the properties. Instead, it seems designed only to keep Hilton from losing stays to other chains.
