The AMEX Offers For Disney Restaurants Are Back And They Stack With Other Discounts

by joeheg

In 2019, we saw several AMEX Offers for restaurants located at the Disney Springs entertainment complex. It’s rare to see any discounts at Disney so these offers that provided a 33% discount were a great deal if you were going to eat there anyway. The locations run the gamut of price ranges and cuisines, so you can pick and choose which ones might be best for you.

If you have an American Express card, you need to sign in to your account and check for your offers. If you’ve never used AMEX Offers before, what are you waiting for? These deals are a great way to offset the annual fees charged by American Express. They aren’t just on AMEX charge cards but also show up on their co-brand cards for Marriott, Hilton and Delta.

A few reminders:

  • Check all of your AMEX cards before enrolling in any offer. Different cards may have different offers for the same place. You only have one shot at registering any of your cards for a specific offer.
  • If you have an AMEX Gold personal card, check to see if the restaurant offers are available on that card since you’ll be earning 4x Membership Rewards points plus the offer on restaurant purchases. The Amex Green Card has recently started to earn 3x points on restaurant purchases.
  • Remember that the Delta Blue, Gold and Platinum co-brand cards now earn 2x SkyMiles at restaurants. The Hilton Aspire earns 7x Honors points and the Hilton Surpass card earns 6x points at restaurants.
  • Not all cards will receive an offer. In fact, you may not receive an offer on any of your cards. Thus is the fickle world of AMEX Offers.
  • When traveling, it can pay to check the “Offers Near Me” in the AMEX app since some offers will only show up if you’re in the general area. For instance, I’m receiving many offers for places in Florida. Those will be of no use if you don’t live here. So if you’re out of town, you may get to see some offers for restaurants that are local chains that won’t show up when you’re at home.

Here are the current offers that I found on our accounts. All of these offers were good until March 6, 2020:

Vivoli Il Gelato

This location is right across from The Boathouse restaurant, connected to Wine Bar George. Besides plain gelato, they served specialties like two scoops of gelato in the middle of a sliced open Italian doughnut.

How To Save Even More

So there are six different places you’re able to save up to 33% on dining at Walt Disney World. Amazing, right?

If you’re a DVC member or annual pass holder, you also get the following discounts:

  • 15% off lunch and dinner at The Edison, Enzo’s Hideaway, Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, Pizza Ponte
  • 10% off at Vivoli Il Gelato and Morimoto Asia

If you’re a member of the Tables in Wonderland program, you’ll save 20% off at the table service restaurants.

Final Thoughts

Disney World can be expensive. It’s fantastic to see any restaurant on Disney World property offering any type of discount. Being able to take advantage of AMEX offers and stacking that with a discount from your AP, DVC, or Tables in Wonderland makes Disney prices a little more bearable.
