Happy Sunday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! What a year its been. Wait, all of these things have happened since last week? I’m changing it up this week. Here are articles I’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that you may like. I’m not including any stories about you-know-what.
Gary writes on View From the Wing about a change to Southwest’s A-List elite boarding policy. While is this is great news for those with Southwest status and their guests, it still won’t get you the A1-A15 boarding positions like this method will. Unfortunately, the new policy does not apply to guests flying on tickets acquired with a Companion Pass.
Travel Update featured a post by The Flight Detective about how the 2-5-2 flight configuration disappeared and possible reasons why. While you can no longer fly with a section of 5 seats in the middle, there’s currently another configuration that is clearly better than all the others.
When I’m reading posts, I don’t expect a headline like “Rival Monkey Gangs Are Latest Consequence of Travel Decline,” but that’s what Scott posted on Travel Codex this week. Honestly, I’d think this would fit more as part of our list of Onion headlines that aren’t far from the truth.
Ben from One Mile at a Time writes that Hyatt’s implementation of a tiered pricing structure, planned to start on March 22, has been postponed until 2021. Hyatt has also announced the delay of other World of Hyatt program changes, such as hotel category shifts, and points forfeiture due to account inactivity.
On Point Me to the Plane, there was a post about the top speakeasy bars around the world. I’m going to bookmark this one as we could possibly have a new addition to our list of favorite New York City bars.
