Travel & Leisure Magazine seems to increase how many “World’s Best” categories they offer every year. For 2020, they asked their readers to rate airlines, airports, car-rental agencies, cities, cruise ships, destination spas, hotels, hotel brands, islands, tour operators, and safari outfitters, and then most of those were broken down into multiple subcategories.
For the topic of “hotels” alone, they have 58 separate categories. Best in the world, best in the U.S., best in large cities, best brand, best in Chicago, best in Spain, best in new Zealand, etc.
Respondents were polled from November 4, 2019 through March 2, 2020, before coronavirus was a huge problem in the U.S.
