In case you missed it, American Express dropped AMEX Offers for most of their card portfolio at the beginning of February. AMEX co-branded personal cards received an offer for monthly dining credits. Not to leave the co-brand business cards out of the fun, AMEX loaded offers to these cards for monthly wireless credits.
The only AMEX co-brand business card we currently hold is the Delta Gold Business AMEX. Checking our account, I found the offer I was expecting to see based on reports from other websites.
There was a $10 monthly statement credit after spending $10 or more on monthly wireless charges. This is almost identical to the $10 credit we received in 2020 with the AMEX Green Card. To get that credit every month, I set a reminder to go onto the T-Mobile website and make a manual payment for $10.
I still leave my Chase Ink Preferred set up for automatic payments when the final bill is due so I can still get the cell phone insurance that card provides.
As for the statement credit? In my experience, AMEX posts it to the account 2 days after the charge on average.
At the beginning the AMEX wireless credits, Google Fi was not triggering the credit but it looks like this problem has been resolved. Check out this post on Frequent Miler for more details about this glitch.
So you don’t need to change the payment for your entire cell bill to your American Express card to get the wireless credit. You can charge only the credit amount to your account every month and then put the remainder on whichever card you want for the rest of the bill.
