The American Express Platinum Card provides benefits to several merchants. Most of these are paid through statement credits where you pay with your Platinum Card and you’ll get an adjustment in a few days. At least that’s how it’s supposed to work.
One exception to this rule is the Uber/Uber Eats monthly credit. Instead of getting credit after the fact, AMEX credits your Uber Cash account. Platinum cardholders get $15 which you have to use by the end of the month or it expires.
As a bonus, AMEX gives cardholders an extra $20 Uber Cash every December.
Just a reminder to use all of your Uber Cash before the end of the month. I don’t usually use Uber for rides so I have a set order from Uber Eats that’s just over the $15 credit. I’ll have to add something this month or get an extra lunch to use the additional $20.
