How To Easily Get Top Tier Status With Hertz Gold Plus Rewards

Are you a renter of Hertz vehicles? Then you should join the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program. This loyalty program offers various tiers of membership, each with its own set of benefits. There’s no cost and here’s a list of the major rental car company programs and links to sign up if you’re not already a member.

The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program has three tiers:

Gold Membership

The first tier is the standard Gold membership, which is available to anyone who rents from Hertz. This tier offers members access to exclusive discounts and the ability to skip the rental counter and go straight to their car. You also can add a spouse or domestic partner to your rental for no extra cost and earn one point in the Hertz program per dollar spent. You’re also able to credit your Hertz rentals to earn airline miles.

Five Star

The second tier is the Five Star membership. To qualify for this tier, you must complete 10 or more rentals or spend $2,000 or more on rentals in a calendar year. Members of this tier receive all the benefits of the standard membership, plus guaranteed vehicle availability, a one-car class upgrade (based on availability) or increased access to Hertz Ultimate Choice vehicles, and a 25% bonus on Gold Plus Rewards points earned.

President’s Circle

The highest tier is the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards President’s Circle membership. To qualify for this tier, you must complete 15 or more rentals or spend $3,000 or more on rentals in a calendar year. This tier offers all the benefits of the previous tiers, plus a guaranteed one-class upgrade or access to the widest amounts of cars if there’s an Ultimate Choice lane. You’ll also get a 50% bonus on Gold Plus Rewards points earned.

Fast Track to Hertz Status

If you want to achieve elite status with Hertz Gold Plus Rewards quickly, you can also use certain credit cards. While it used to be difficult to earn top-tier President’s Circle status, Hertz is now making it easy by having one of the following cards:

• Capital One Venture X
• American Express Platinum
• American Express Business Platinum
• Any World Elite Mastercard

American Express only added President’s Circle status as a benefit at the end of 2022, so it’s rather new. We both applied for Hertz status from our Venture X cards, which was an easy process on the Capital One website. Ever since we’ve walked right to the Hertz lot and picked a car from the President’s Circle lane.

Overall, the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program is a great way to earn rewards and benefits for frequent Hertz renters. With three tiers of membership and credit card options to help you achieve elite status, this loyalty program is definitely worth considering if you rent from Hertz.
