Most major credit card issuers offer a travel portal where you can redeem your points to pay for flights, rental cars, and hotel stays. In addition to using points, you can also earn extra points when you pay for your travel, with the potential to earn up to 10 times the points for hotel and rental car bookings. Additionally, there’s a selection of premium hotels available for cardholders of upper-tier credit cards, offering benefits such as room upgrades and property credits.
Each program offers slightly different benefits, and while many hotels overlap programs, some are only available with one program. I was a bit surprised to learn that Omni Hotels and Resorts has added all 50 of its properties, including 13 highly ranked golf resorts, to the Citi Travel portal as part of the Hotel and Luxury Collections.
Omni Hotels & Resorts
Omni Hotels doesn’t have a large footprint, so it’s not the first program you think about when booking a hotel. However, it has a selection of premier resorts, including being the official hotel of the PGA of America.
When we visited Asheville, we stopped by the OMNI Grove Park Inn. Which besides the Biltmore, has some of the best views of the surrounding area. It’s also an amazing hotel to look at and walk around.

In addition to receiving up to 10X points for booking through the Citi Travel portal, cardholders will also earn Select Guest points as part of Omni’s Select Guest Rewards program. Citi Strata Premier cardholders can use their yearly $100 credit for these bookings, and Citi Prestige cardholders can use the 4th-night free benefit.
I checked the AMEX, Capital One and Chase travel portals and none of them had the Grove Park Inn available on their websites. So if you’re looking at an OMNI hotel or resort, the Citi Travel portal should be your first place to check. In addition to earning bonus ThankYou points, you’ll also get some great perks like hotel credits and room upgrades.
