Dolly Parton had a VERY busy Thursday. She was the celebrity who kicked off the CMA Fest, a 4-day fan festival in Nashville that features the biggest stars and emerging talent in country music, with an event called “A Special Conversation With Global Superstar Dolly Parton.”
And converse she did!
Dolly’s Wines
She told attendees that she’s launching a collection of wines called Dolly Wines.
The first wine to be released, Dolly Wines California Chardonnay 2023, will go on sale in the United States to leading retailers in July. It’s exclusively available for pre-sale through Vivino on www.DollyWines.com. The crisp Chardonnay is said to offer a blend of white peach, sweet cream, and toasty oak for a perfectly balanced sweetness.
Dolly’s Broadway show
Dolly also announced plans for her Broadway musical that will be based on her life.
“Hello, I’m Dolly” is being co-written by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter, who previously co-wrote the 2020 Netflix movie “Christmas on the Square” with Parton. It’s currently scheduled to begin production in 2026.
Dolly’s Nashville Hotel & Museum
Dolly Parton is no stranger to owning hotels. Rooms at her two hotels, DreamMore Resort & Spa, and HeartSong Lodge & Resort, both on the property of Dollywood theme park, located in her home town of Pigeon Forge, TN, are available for nightly rentals.
However during CMA Fest, Dolly also announced she was going to open a third hotel, but this one wouldn’t be in Pigeon Forge.
“I’m going to have a hotel right here in Nashville, and a museum too,” Parton told the crowd.
The country icon officially revealed her upcoming Songteller Hotel in Nashville, which will be located on 3rd and Commerce in downtown Nashville. Parton was behind the purchase of the building, previously, known as the Baker Donelson Center at 211 Commerce, in December 2023. The building had been one of the downtown Nashville’s largest office buildings.
‘Since the pandemic, commercial real estate is becoming an opportunity,” Dolly said in a statement in December. “I strongly believe in the future of Nashville and feel this is a great investment.”
“When we were looking at the property, you know how sometimes you feel you get a little divine sign,” Parton said during the event. “We were walking through and it was an empty room. There was a table and of all things, there was my book Songteller, and we thought that must be a sign and we thought that would be a good name.”
The hotel will also include a Dolly Parton museum. Plans for that include memorabilia from her career and many of her fashionable outfits, including a replica of Parton’s “Coat of Many Colors,” which inspired her famous song of the same name.
You can watch the entire video (get some tea and cookies – it’s 36 minutes long) on this page of CMA Fest’s website.
