Passenger Removed From Plane Because of Sex Toy

by SharonKurheg

Remember that time the airport in Florida had to be evacuated because of an abandoned suitcase that was making a weird noise? I mean, my suitcase did that once too – that was fun! – but at least I was only at a hotel, not in an airport or on a plane, LOL!

Obviously, safety is #1 when you’re on a flight. Even if all of your belongings made it through the TSA’s scanners without a problem, if someone in charge thinks there’s something suspicious, the powers that be will investigate.

That’s exactly what happened to Instagram model Amanda Diaz Rojas in late January. She and her friends had gotten onto their plane and were all settled for their flight. But then her carry-on bag started to make noise. So, of course, the flight crew, needing to ensure that everyone was safe, asked her to remove her bag from the overhead. They instructed her to bring the bag out of the plane and onto the jetway.

Rojas knew exactly what was making the noise – one of her vibrators (yes, vibratorS. plural). And she was pretty embarrassed about the whole thing. But she did what she was told, took her bag onto the jetway, opened it, figured out which sex toy had turned on and shut it off. That’s when the airline staff began giggling like crazy.

But her friends, being the good friends they were, made sure to videotape the entire event. Because of course they did. 😉 The video has close to 13 million views on TikTok. Because TikTok. And vibrators. You can add to the amount of views by watching the video:

Rojas’ caption for the video is adorable: “Cuando todo el avion quiere saber porque tu maleta vibra.” (“when the whole plane wants to know why your suitcase is vibrating”).

For what it’s worth, adult toys are indeed allowed in carry-on bags and checked luggage:

The TSA does clarify that “the final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint.” I was originally going to be a wisea$$ and say I suspect that meant vibrators were OK but handcuffs were not, but nope, handcuffs are apparently OK.

But I did try to find out. You know, for science. 😉

Anyway, Travel & Leisure offers 7 tips for getting your sex toys through airport security in the U.S. (they’re illegal in some countries, so if you’re traveling internationally, learn what the rules are). I guess it’d be a good way to get them onto the plane, too. 😉
