It’s always exciting when the TSA adds new airlines to its list of participants in TSA PreCheck. It means not having to stand on the “regular” queue at the airport, which, besides saving you time, also relieves you from having to take your shoes off, take certain items out of your bag, etc.
On the other hand, it’s equally as frustrating when an airline you plan to fly on isn’t a PreCheck participant. We even went as far as to contact six of the most popular “non-PreCheck” airlines earlier this year to ask why they don’t participate. Here’s what they said at the time.
Happily, since then, one of those airlines was added to TSA PreCheck’s list less than a month later, and 2 more were added just a few months later.
Although not on our “list of six” from earlier this year, two more airlines have just been added:
New Additions
According to the TSA, the new airlines added to the list include:
- Caribbean Airlines
- RED Air
Caribbean Airlines
RED Air
RED Air S.R.L. is based in the Dominican Republic. It’s a low-cost leisure airline with facilities in Las Américas International Airport and main offices in Santo Domingo.
The airline was founded in January 2020 as a joint venture between the Venezuelan airline LASER Airlines and Dominican fixed-base operator SERVAIR Dominicana. It has 3 McDonnell Douglas MD-82s that offer scheduled flights to/from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and the U.S. (Miami).
Total airlines
With these 2 additions, TSA PreCheck is currently offered in 2 countries (the U.S. and one international location) by 104 airlines.
