It’s Election Day and to say that people are stressed could be the understatement of the year. After all, both sides are positive that if “the other side” wins, it’ll be the end of democracy as we know it.
That may or may not be true, and we have no idea of what the future holds. But instead of having a “ruff” time of it, Marriott-branded Aloft Hotels is hosting what they’re cleverly calling “Not Watch Pawties” tonight, in 5 locations across the country.
That’s not a typo, by the way – it really will be a “pawty” in each location. Y’see, the dog-friendly Aloft has partnered with local shelters to bring puppies to their hotels tonight so people – guests and non-guests alike – can have a “politics-free safe zone” where they can hang out and cuddle and play with puppies, while politics junkies are glued to their TVs and devices to see what the next 4 years will hold.
The pawties will be held at:
- Aloft New York, Chelsea from 5 – 7 p.m.
- Aloft Atlanta at the Battery from 5 -7 p.m.
- Aloft Orlando Downtown from 5 – 9 p.m.
- Aloft Austin Downtown from 5 – 7 p.m.
- Aloft Milwaukee Downtown 5 – 7 p.m.
The events will be free and there’s no need to register. Just show up to the “pawty” of your choice and prepare to cuddle and play your stress away.
Aloft will offer guests complimentary puppy-themed light bites and beverages like a Puppucino and Chocolate Bark-tini.
And if you can’t attend a pawty but still want to tune out the political rollercoaster for a little bit, Aloft invites Americans to tune into serenity with this 1-minute, dog-led mediation video. It’s adorable, y’all – it features a sweet pup gazing into the camera with warm brown eyes as he softly encourages viewers to ‘paws,’ stretch, and stay positive.
“Everyone needs a chance to de-stress at the moment and we decided to share some of the comfort dogs bring both virtually and in-person this election season,” said Brian Jaymont, Global Brand Leader for Aloft Hotels. “We hope this calming video and our No Watch Puppy Parties give people a chance to relax and reset, even if it’s only a couple of hours.”
Don’t tell anymore, but I’m seriously considering going to the Orlando pawty. I’ll let you know if I do. 😉
