The World of Hyatt Business Card Quietly Makes a Big Move

by joeheg

The World of Hyatt program has long taken a conservative approach to co-branded credit cards. For years, the Hyatt Card—later relaunched as the World of Hyatt Card—was their sole offering. It wasn’t until 2021 that they introduced the World of Hyatt Business Card, a product designed to stand out in a crowded market. Among its distinctive features was an earning structure that offered flexibility other cards lacked.

Earning Potential

One standout feature of the World of Hyatt Business Card is its adaptive accelerator, which rewards cardmembers with 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent in their top spending categories each calendar quarter. Initially, at launch, cardholders enjoyed bonuses on their top three categories, but this was scheduled to reduce to the top two categories after December 31, 2022. The eligible spending categories include:

  • Dining
  • Airline tickets purchased directly with airlines
  • Car rental agencies
  • Local transit and commuting
  • Gas stations
  • Internet, cable, and phone services
  • Social media and search engine advertising
  • Shipping

Despite the original plan to scale back, the bonus for the top three categories was extended through the end of 2023. And again, at the close of 2023, this benefit was renewed through 2024.

Making It Permanent

Now, instead of another year-end extension, Hyatt has decided to permanently cement the top-three category bonus as a benefit of the World of Hyatt Business Card. Cardholders will continue earning double points in their top three eligible spending categories each quarter, a feature that has proven popular with small business owners.

From dining out to locking in airfare, business spending with the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card keeps your professional life moving. And now, you’ll be getting double points in your top 3 eligible spend categories each quarter as a standing benefit.

Final Thoughts

The World of Hyatt Business Card has consistently provided top-three category bonuses, but it’s comforting to note that this feature is now a permanent benefit rather than just an annual renewal. This improvement boosts the card’s attractiveness for small business owners and helps them plan reward strategies more effectively.
