Tokyo’s Adults Only Theme Park, Owned By Japanese Porn Co., Thriving

The Japanese have quite an obsession with sex. As a country, they have one of the most robust adult-toy and pornography industries in the world. Some of their TV commercials for even the most non-sexual items are pretty suggestive (NSFW warning). And where else are you going to see fertility festivals that include images and models of male sexual organs just about everywhere? (NSFW warning: lots of adult images) So is it any wonder they opened an 18+ theme park of sorts in Tokyo, and even now, years later, it’s thriving?

The park was designed by Japan’s most prominent adult film producer/distributor, Soft on Demand (SOD), and is therefore called, you guessed it, SOD Land.

SOD Land is located in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district. Limited to a clientele of 18+, it’s a building with several floors, and a different theme on each one.

• The basement is the “Newcomer Adult Film Actress Floor.” The space has a bar that serves both food and drink, and guests are served by adult film stars who are newer to the business.
• The first floor is where the entrance is, as well as a gift shop and photo booth.
• The second floor is called the Kakubutsu Salon and it’s where guests can drink with women who work in the fuzoku industry (fuzoku is what’s used to describe “prostitution” in Japanese, except it includes anything except actual intercourse). It encompasses hostess bars, erotic massage, and other risqué entertainment services.
• The third floor is the Famous Adult Actress Floor, and guests are able to talk and mingle with more well-known and established adult film stars. Or, as SOD describes it, “A space of dreams where you can become friends with famous adult film actresses while drinking.”
• Finally, the fourth floor is the Silent Bar. SOD actresses wearing bikinis mix drinks for customers behind a one-way mirror. Private conversation between the guests, “is strictly prohibited in order to allow them to quietly contemplate the view.”

SOD Land did have some problems with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department back in 2023 – something about allowing female employees to entertain clients without a license. But the problem was fixed and SOD Land continues on.

SOD Land’s website used to be found here (Note: NSFW). In the past two years or so, the URL apparently changed and that site now appears to be SOD’s main page for soft core porn. Womp womp. We’ve not been able to find a proper URL for SOD Land since (although it’s possible that SOD Land is still on that original page and since I can’t read Japanese, I’m just not seeing it. However even with Google Translate, I don’t see it there).

There’s precious little on the ‘net that gives information about SOD Land, although again, that could be because I’m only looking at sites that are in English.  However we did find a YouTube video, from 2022, called “I Spent The Day Inside Japan’s Pornstar Theme Park.” Here’s the video (and again, no surprises here, it’s NSFW):
