Over the years, many celebrities have embraced social media. It serves a dual purpose of their getting information out there, and fans being able to feel closer to their celebs of choice by following them on the platform of their choice.
Some of these celebs take their social media very lightly. Perhaps even too lightly. Their posts may be on the dry side, with just a little information here and there, on a “need to know” basis. Others have fully embraced the responsibility of having fans following them online, and they make it their business to ensure their respective social media in updated often and interestingly.
Justin Timberlake is one of the latter. He has a social media presence on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. He (or, let’s face it, “his people”) may not post every day but when there are new entries, they’re typically fun and engaging.
Case in point, Timberlake is in the midst of his Forget The World Tomorrow tour. The next leg of this world tour is in South America, so he and his entourage loaded onto a plane. While in the air, someone got footage of JT having fun announcing the plane’s safety rules, which were written on a piece of paper he read off.
In a video uploaded to his TikTok account last Wednesday, the 44-year-old JT can be seen wearing a green hoodie, and making the following announcement over the plane’s PA system:
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to JT Live 25 South American Leg.
“The life jacket is located in a pouch at the side of your seat. To inflate the life jacket, pull firmly on the red toggles.
“If you have any questions, keep them to yourself.
“Oh, we’re just kidding. Please ask the crew.”
The former ‘NSYNC member then continued, telling fellow passengers their flight path.
He explained: “We will be flying over the beautiful countries of Dominican Republic, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, until we make our way into Argentina.
“We thank you for flying JT Live 25 Air, it’s going to be lit.”
The video ends with the camera panning around the flight, showing passengers clapping and cheering.
Here’s the video:
@justintimberlake South America, we’re coming for you!
But JT wasn’t done. Besides being an honorary flight attendant, he’s apparently now a golf pro, as well. Well, if he’s playing plane golf, anyway.
Another video from the flight hit TikTok the same day. Holding a putter and with 2 balls on the ground, the shoeless (ew!) JT hits one of the balls towards the back of the plane.
The ball rolls down the aisle, veering to the right and hitting a bumper before getting a hole-in-one into the handheld cup towards the back of the plane. He and the other passengers cheer as he runs down the aisle, high-fiving along the way.
And a voice in the background of the video said while Justin was showing off his golfing skills: “A number of players putt from the back part of the screen and the numbers have not been good.”
Better than most. Better than most!” the dubbing over the video is heard to say – a nod to the famous Tiger Woods putt.
Here’s THAT video:
@justintimberlake We love you, Big 🐅!!! Get well soon!
It’s nice to know that if JT’s musical career ever takes a nosedive, he has some backups jobs – as a FA or golf pro – to fall back on. 😉
