When you think of our country’s national parks, you probably think of words like “beautiful.” “Impressive.” Maybe even “Majestic.”
But “Hot?” “Risqué?” “Libidinous?” I mean, I like a “Grand Tetons” joke as much as the next person, but most people probably don’t associate national parks with sexiness a whole lot. Well, unless they have a thing for bison or something.
But when the president of the United States is considering a cut of $1.2 billion from the National Park Service in a proposed budget for fiscal year 2026, well, I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.
Fans of the national parks have banded together on TikTok to make a series of videos to raise awareness of Yellowstone, Joshua Tree, the Grand Canyon and all the rest. But instead of a PSA you might see on public television, they’re making videos you might find on Pornhub or OnlyFans (in fact, one of the videomakers is an OnlyFans creator…WHAT a coincidence!)
Enter: ParkTok
It’s been dubbed ParkTok. And I’m warning you now – some of these videos are probably NSFW, due to occasional adult language and suggestive sexual situations.
One video by an account called visit.yellowstone starts by showing a blonde woman dressed in a sexy cat costume. She’s dancing to a rap song before it cuts to a stunning scene of a park. The caption reads: “Thirst Trap Thursday coming in hot and no, it’s not just the hike. Serving scenic legs and waterfall teases on the way to Nevada Falls. Nature’s not the only thing dripping. 💦🌲🍑 ”

Well, OK then…
An account from grand.canyon.natio (guess they ran out of room) shows a well-muscled man coming out of a body of water, with a reply to another TikTokker, “Just wondering why our canyons are wetter than yours,” followed by footage of the Colorado River running through the Grand Canyon. The caption reads: “Oh!!! our canyons are wet here 💦💦”
@grand.canyon.natio Replying to @huntsvilleadventurer Oh!!! our canyons are wet here 💦💦 #grandcanyonnationalpark #nationalparks #onlyparks

I’m sorry…is it getting a little warm in here?
Some of the videos LOOK just fine but if you listen to the music, they are NOT suggesting a hike. Maybe some other type of exercise, though…
@
Or they’ll have some caption that might be a liiiiiitle bit suggestive…

The people making the videos are hikers who were already posting their videos on the platform anyway. One such hiker told the NY Post, “We started thinking we could probably do some good with this instead of just sharing our hiking videos.” So they began, “doing coordinated, themed posts, in between our silly posts and our nature posts, about the threats of logging and our public lands being sold and all of these things that have been introduced by the federal government,” she said.
Many ParkTokkers are hoping that viewers watch their videos and realize what’s at stake with the proposed cuts. They’ve also got their fingers crossed that viewers will donate to organizations like the National Park Foundation, or that they’ll contact local representatives to advocate for their political support of the parks.
Going back to the visit.yellowstone account, a scantily clad brunette woman did a quick little video that ended with footage of a rushing river at one of the national parks. The caption read: “It’s ladies’ week, and they’ve waited long enough, prepare for a parade of thirst traps!!” Here’s the video:

ferguson.impact.coaching wrote a lovely caption for their video:
Across the U.S., our national parks preserve some of the most extraordinary rock formations on Earth—shaped over millions of years by wind, water, tectonic shifts, and time itself.
From Skull Rock to El Capitan, these natural wonders are more than scenic backdrops—they’re irreplaceable geological archives and sacred spaces worth protecting.
Yes, we’re leaning into the thirst.
But behind every slow pan and smirk, we’re doing what we can to raise awareness for the wild places that need our voices.
The accompanying video is, well, ladies (and guys enjoying Pride Month)…y’all enjoy, IYKWIM.

“Hard Formations Edition” indeed!
By the way, Stephen Colbert even got into the act to let people know about the good work these nature lovers are doing.

The caption for that video, from visit.yellowstone, was:
Thank you to all the TikTok celebrities who have used their platforms to raise awareness about what is happening in our parks. We also extend our gratitude to those working behind the scenes who do not seek attention , we couldn’t have gotten here without you. Lastly, thank you to everyone in MountainTok who has helped bring awareness and support to our parks and public lands.
Obviously, regardless of what side of the fence you lean on, no one wants our national parks to suffer. Hopefully something or someone can help them before it’s too late.
