7 Travel Stories From The Onion That Are Funny Because They’re Almost True

by SharonKurheg

Travel can be stressful.

Sometimes the best way to deal with it is to laugh at how ridiculous it all is.

The Onion is a U.S.-based satirical digital media company and newspaper organization that publishes articles on international, national, and local news. Some people love it, some hate it. Either way is probably fine with them, as long as you keep clicking. 😉

The Onion has also done a bunch of pieces on travel in general, many of which may give you a chuckle:

(Warning: The Onion frequently uses adult language in their stories. Be aware that clicking on some of these links might show language on your device that’s NSFW)

I know there are more than seven. It’s my website. I can do what I want. 😉

(Obviously, that last one is older.) But I still snorted when I read it)

Honestly, one of the reasons The Onion’s travel stories work so well is because they’re usually only about 10% more ridiculous than reality.

Whether it’s TSA rules, airline policies, airport delays, hotel quirks, or the unique frustrations of traveling with other humans, most frequent travelers have probably experienced at least one situation that felt like it belonged in a satirical headline.

So if you’ve got a few minutes to spare and could use a laugh, grab a beverage and click through a few of the links above.

Just don’t blame me if you find yourself wondering whether one or two of them might actually be real. 😆

Happy reading!
