When it comes to writing lounge reviews, that’s usually my area. Hi, I’m Joe and I’m the one who actually cares about lounge access, amenities, food quality, and all the little details. My wife, Sharon? Not so much. I learned that the hard way after I asked her to review the United Club at SFO—let’s just say our priorities differ a bit (read that classic here).
But sometimes we travel solo (because we’re both totally fine with that), and one of us ends up at an airport with a lounge we haven’t visited before—either because we don’t fly through there often, or it’s a newer addition.
That’s exactly what happened when Sharon flew to Philadelphia.
I’d previously visited the Centurion Lounge at PHL and was pretty impressed. But I knew Chase had since opened a Sapphire Lounge there, and from what I’d heard, it might be one of the best domestic airport lounges out there.
I also knew I had an ace up my sleeve. I’m sure Sharon expected me to ask her to snap a few pictures of the lounge. That’s when I asked if she would go to the Chase Sapphire Lounge. Since she enjoyed our visit to the JFK location, I figured that might get her on board.
Then I casually added, “Oh, and they have a spa onsite.”
That sealed the deal. I’ll probably never use a lounge spa treatment, but Sharon isn’t one to turn down a complimentary facial. She was in.
Chase Sapphire Lounge at PHL: Location and Access
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is located in the Terminal D/E Connector, making it easily accessible to most travelers. It’s open daily from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Access is available to travelers with Priority Pass Select membership, but there are important limitations:
- Unlimited access is only available to members whose Priority Pass is issued through the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Ritz-Carlton Card.
- If your Priority Pass comes from another card (such as American Express or Capital One), you’re only allowed one complimentary visit per calendar year to a Chase Sapphire Lounge. After that, entry fees apply.
There’s also a time-based restriction: you can only enter within three hours of your scheduled departure. These lounges cannot be used as arrivals lounges—unless you’re on a connecting itinerary, in which case, earlier access is allowed.
Sharon used the Priority Pass linked to her Ritz-Carlton Card and had no issues with entry.

First Impressions
This place is definitely not your average airline lounge.
There are multiple seating zones, including dining tables, bar stools, loungers, and quiet corners.
The decor features greenery, soft lighting, and thoughtful design elements. There’s even a game room and a shuffleboard table for those who have time to unwind.
Families are also welcome—there’s a dedicated kids’ room with stylish and playful seating.
Food & Drinks
The lounge menu is fresh and seasonal, featuring dishes crafted by the local Philadelphia favorite, Middle Child Clubhouse. They also serve local roasts from Elixr Coffee, cocktails from a full bar, and a curated wine list by Parcelle.
Sharon tried the grilled cheese and crispy chicken bites, washed down with a can of Spindrift. Her review: It was better than what you’d get from most lounges.
Spa Time
One of the lounge’s highlights is the complimentary spa treatments, available by appointment. The wellness area offers facials, chair massages, and other mini services.
Final Thought
The Chase Sapphire Lounge at PHL exceeded expectations, living up to the hype. From its refined design and restaurant-quality food to unexpected perks like a game room and complimentary spa services, it’s one of the best domestic lounges we’ve encountered. More accurately, that Sharon’s encountered.
If you’re a Chase Sapphire Reserve or Ritz-Carlton cardholder, this lounge might be worth arriving early for. Even if you only have one annual visit on another Priority Pass, this might be the place to use it.

Was there earlier this month. Defintely one of the largest domestic lounges I’ve been to but also the first CSR domestic lounge I’ve been to. Food selection was not as extensive as I expected compared to the CSR lounge in Hong Kong. Wife ordered the burger from menu and it was very good. I liked the steak chili. We were there at 1 PM, so maybe there’s more at dinner…..
