JetBlue Is Giving Away Free Flights To Some Good People In November – But There’s A Catch

by SharonKurheg

As part of JetBlue’s For Good Month, the airline whose slogan is, “You Above All; Inspiring Humanity” is flying a plane full of people on November 27th to a place they’re calling “Destination Good,” to participate in a volunteer experience. But there’s a catch…

Since 2011, JetBlue crew members have volunteered more than 500,000 hours of service as part of the company’s “JetBlue For Good” initiative. Last year was the first time JetBlue had their #CheckInForGood campaign the part of “JetBlue For Good” where the airline sent 50 winners and their companions on an all-expense-paid trip for 3 days to their choice of destinations at which to volunteer. The choices at the time were Jamaica, the Bahamas or Houston, Texas, where they could either rebuild a community center, or give back to the environment at a coral nursery or dolphin sanctuary, or create “pop-up libraries” in low-literacy communities.

This year there is only one destination: Destination Good. And where it is is anyone’s guess.

That’s the catch – for their 2018 #CheckInForGood event, winners won’t know where they’re going to volunteer alongside some of the airline’s crew members and non-profit partners until the day they arrive at JFK on November 27th (that date is Giving Tuesday, BTW).

“Service is built into everything we do at JetBlue. It’s part of our DNA. Doing good can make a powerful impact any and everywhere,” said Icema Gibbs, director corporate social responsibility, JetBlue. “We’re excited to offer our customers the chance to once again roll up their sleeves and join us in giving back. We chose Destination Good as this year’s location to reinforce that doing good can happen anywhere and anytime – be it in the air, on the ground, or even in your neighborhood.”

It’s been let known that winners will be doing volunteer work focused on youth and education, community, and the environment. While volunteer options are still being finalized, participants can expect to conduct work in each of the three areas mentioned above with opportunities that range from assistance in local schools to beach cleanups.

How It Works

  • To enter, entrants can fill out a short online questionnaire about what “Good” they have to declare, at https://jetbluecheckinforgood.com through October 26, 2018.
  • JetBlue check-in kiosks will also pop up in surprise locations in New York City and Los Angeles at select times through October 26th. Visitors to the kiosks will be able to fill out the same contest questionnaire for an opportunity to win.

  • Up to 50 entrants will be selected to join the trip, with one guest each, to participate in three memorable days dedicated to JetBlue For Good’s three philanthropic pillars – youth and the environment, education and community.
  • The flight to Destination Good will depart on Giving Tuesday, November 27 – the international day of giving kicking off the holiday season, and return on Friday, November 30, 2018.

Entrants who are selected as winners will be notified of their eligibility by November 20, 2018.

If you decide to enter, GOOD LUCK, you good person, you!
