re: the title – there’s ALWAYS a catch, isn’t there?
To celebrate Valentine’s Day (or rather, to allow others to celebrate Valentines Day), WOW Air is suggesting you, “ditch the chocolate and flowers and give the gift of a memorable trip to your loved one this Valentine’s Day.” And if you fly together, they will refund you one of the fares, so that one of you can fly to Iceland for free! But like I said, there’s a catch…
One of the passengers in the booking must have a first or last name of Valentine.
Well, OK then…that is indeed quite a catch š But yeah, the deal is that WOW air is offering any passenger whose first or last name is ‘Valentine’ free air travel for their significant other on flights from four U.S. cities (Boston (BOS), Washington, D.C. (BWI), New York (EWR) and Detroit (DTW) to Iceland.
The offer is valid on bookings made from now through February 14, 2019, for travel February 10 – 19, 2019. To redeem the offer, passengers named Valentine will need to send a picture of their passport and their booking reference to WOW air. After confirmation, passengers will be refunded for their tickets.
Here are the terms and conditions from WOW Air’s website:
No word if derivatives such as Valentina or Valentino (I used to live next door to a Valentino) count.
Even if your name isn’t Valentine, you can still get some good prices to Iceland from BOS, BWI, EWR and FTW. We’re talking $99 one-way to Iceland and $149 to Europe. So even if your parents didn’t have the foresight to name you Valentine, you can still go to Europe on the cheap.
Anyway, more info can be found on this page of WOW Air’s website.
