Happy Sunday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- In another example of getting ‘Bonvoyed’, Lucky (Ben) from One Mile at a Time writes about the outrageous cancellation policy at the St. Regis in Aspen. It’s understandable the hotel doesn’t want to have open rooms during busy season but having a policy so draconian will eventually cost them business.
- Dev writes a hotel review on The World According to Dev showing that while a stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Fort Wayne, IN might not be the most glamorous, it might be just thing your family needs.
- The Resort Traveler writes on Travel Update about the “secret password” to get Marriott phone reps to honor the old point values for reward stays put on hold before the devaluation.
- Andy writes on Andy’s Travel Blog about the ten-year old who wrote to the Qantas CEO asking for advice on starting his own airline and the CEO’s response.
- Doctor of Credit shares information about Mastercard discontinuing their Masterpass app. While I’ve written about Masterpass before, I had no idea they even had an app.
- Matthew writes on Live and Let’s Fly about a fellow passenger on his flight whose ice-breaker into a conversation was to admit he was high and drunk. Find out how it went from there.
- Maybe the person on Matthew’s flight needed some cake. Gary writes on View from the Wing about which airlines allow you to pre-order a cake to be delivered in flight. Come to think of it, maybe the drunk and high passenger was coming from a Steve Aoki concert so we better keep a cake away from him.
- Finally, Nick writes on Frequent Miler about a dilemma many of us eventually face. If you have a reward certificate good for “Up To Category X” hotels, is it a waste to use them at a lower category hotel.
