Happy Sunday to all of our travel friends, both near and far! Here are some articles we’ve read from other bloggers (and other sources) that we think you may like, as well, so we’re passing them along.
- Ben (Lucky) wrote this week on One Mile at a Time about how he’s no longer “addicted” to travel. I found this to be a very honest post telling how what’s important to us can change over time and that doesn’t mean what we cherished in the past was wrong, just it’s not as important as it used to be. As we picked up Dobby the toy poodle from “camp” yesterday, I can totally relate to the struggle of leaving a member of your pack behind while you travel the world.
- John from Loyalty Lobby writes about a reader’s complaints from a stay at the Radisson Blu in Berlin. I almost signed up for the Radisson Rewards credit card to pay for a stay at this hotel and after reading this post I’m glad that I didn’t.
- Stefan from Rapid Travel Chai is more of a completist than I will ever be. While he’s stuck at visiting 191 of the 193 UN countries, he’s also trying to visit all 50 states and the U.S. National Parks as well. Here’s his guide on how to use points to visit all 8 of the parks in Alaska.
- As Sharon and I were sitting in a hotel room in London typing out blog entries, this post from Greg at Frequent Miler appeared, telling what the typical day of a travel blogger is like. Saying we identified with this post would be the understatement of the year.
- Sebastian from Loyalty Lobby shared an article advising citizens of Australia, Canada, Japan and the U.S. that they will no longer need a visa to visit Brazil effective June 17, 2019.
- Gary from View From the Wing shared his feelings about a post on The Points Guy website on the recent Marriott Bonvoy points devaluations. Taking a critical view of posts from fellow bloggers is important and keeps us all in line when we start to blindly regurgitate the corporate talking points. Just an important reminder to not believe everything you read on the internet.
- Walt Disney World has some big changes in the works for the front of Magic Kingdom. Shawn from Inside The Magic gives the rundown on what to expect.
- Rocky from Travel Codex wrote a review of his trip on Aer Lingus from Dublin to Seattle in business class. We flew with Aer Lingus from Orlando to Dublin and I was curious to see if Rocky’s experience was similar to ours. Since we were flying the opposite direction, our experience was more dependent on the comfort of the seat, which was excellent and the best rest I’ve experienced on a trans-Atlantic trip.
- Lastly, Matthew from Live and Let’s Fly writes about his “traveler’s remorse” from not booking a Marriott Bonvoy trip before the number of points needed for a redemption increased. Being on the opposite side of the coin, I have a stay booked that I’m thinking about canceling because, on second thought, I’m not sure the stay is worth the points.
