The U.S.-Based Airline You Don’t Want To Fly On

by SharonKurheg

There isn’t an airline out there that some people don’t want to fly on, for some reason or another. For us, it’s United. Others can’t stand American. Looking over at the other side of the pond, Ryanair has certainly not made many friends over the years (this example is my favorite).

Of course, for each of these examples, as well as with any other, there are people who like or even love each of those airlines that some of us love to hate. However, there’s one U.S. airline that I think we can agree that none of us would ever hope to be on…

It’s called the Justice Prisoner & Alien Transportation System, or JPATS for short. It’s the U.S. government’s airline that’s used to transport prisoners from one part of the country to another. Take a look:

Yeah, I think I’d be OK with United or even Spirit before I try out “JPATS Air” 😉

That may be the most annoying narration I’ve ever heard. Like a caricature of “YouTuber speak.” And the attempts at humor were pretty laughable.

Great info, though! Gotta read up on it some more, I’m fascinated by all these auxiliary government programs – especially when it comes to planes and trains.

Nope. Just a tidbit about aviation that some people might find interesting. We don’t always (actually, we rarely) post “news.” Everyone else covers it before we could even write about it, so why rehash hours later? We might write about “news” from a different angle or as an opinion piece, but more often than not we write about other things in relation to travelhotels/airlines.

Many years ago, Spirit operated such prison and undocumented immigrant flights. I saw a DC9 being boarded with people in shackles.
