It’s 2020 and a story like this doesn’t even register as something particularly surprising.
QAnon Website Shuts Down After N.J. Man Identified as Operator
Growing up in New Jersey, this doesn’t shock me at all. However, this headline from Bloomberg doesn’t highlight the most important part of the story.
Based on reporting, the NJ resident behind the story was an employee of Citibank working as an information security analyst. I’d hate to think that someone responsible for the security of information at Citi would have access to my data. Are you concerned that someone with access to your finances is also the same person who’s hosting a website spouting some of the most bizarre conspiracy theories out there?
The QAnon theory posits that President Donald Trump is battling a “deep state” ring of child-sex traffickers. It has already motivated some domestic extremists to violent acts or to threaten violence, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
That’s probably why all mention of his working for Citi has been deleted from his LinkedIn account. In addition, the entire website in question has been taken offline. Just saying that if you’re behind one of the major conspiracy theory websites on the internet, you should be better at hiding your tracks from the “deep state” reporters.
For someone holding a senior position in IT at one of the biggest banks in the U.S., Gelinas certainly didn’t know how to hide his tracks on the web. His home phone number is the same phone number used for Patriot Platforms, LLC, a company registered with the state of New Jersey that is the developer of the QMap.pub website
Of course, this could be another conspiracy. In fact, reading the article from Logically.ai took me further down that rabbit hole than I ever wanted to go.
Will this change anything about how I conduct business with the big banks? Of course, it won’t. But it just shows how you never know who if the person with access to your personal information is the same person who’s wearing a tin-foil hat and looking to break up a child-sex ring run out of a pizzeria.

Don’t they also believe that the “deep state” are cannibals? I think that they should add in the Illuminati as well as space aliens but they somehow forgot to ask my opinion.
