Help Plan Our Trip: What’s There To Do In Dallas?

a city with many tall buildings

While we visit Texas almost every year, it’s usually to visit Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. We’ve hit many of the sights in Austin and San Antonio and even visited the Texas Hill Country.

On this trip, we’re starting in Dallas to visit some friends and family before heading southwest. We have most of the day to spend but we can’t seem to find anything to do.

So, help us out. What’s there to do in Dallas (or nearby) for a day? We’ll have a car, but not with unlimited mileage, so not something too far away. If you’ve been reading here for a while, you know we love something local, a little quirky or even a bit tacky. The history stuff is OK but I don’t think we’re looking for a museum-type place unless it’s an unusual subject matter.

And if you have any don’t miss places on the drive between Dallas and Austin, we’d like to hear about those too.

You’ve helped us out when we were looking for tips in Chicago, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Seattle but no pressure on this one, OK?
