Harry Potter Star Slams Air Canada For Rebooking

by SharonKurheg

Another day, another celebrity taking to social media to complain about an airline.

Not long ago, actor and former pro wrestler Dave Bautista posted several sharp words on his Instagram account about American Airlines, when they lost his luggage on his way to Hungary. He went there to begin filming Dune: Part II. I’ve been checking his Insta periodically and he still hasn’t said his bags had been returned to him yet.

Meanwhile, Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter series of films, recently had his own problem with an airline – Air Canada. And so he’s saying they’re the worst airline in North America.

Lewis recently took the airline to fly from Orlando to Toronto, where he was scheduled to be a guest at Fan Expo Canada. The airline apparently overbooked his flight, consequently forcing Matthew to fly in economy instead of the first class seat he had bought.

Someone tweeted back to remind him that it’s common practice for airlines to oversell, and he replied:

Another of his followers wondered why the airline hadn’t mentioned something before he got to the gate:

Anyway, Lewis still made it to Toronto, which is a lot better than those whose flights are canceled altogether. He just had to sit with the commoners, is all ;-). But he did say the family he sat next to was very nice.

Air Canada was apparently aware of the situation. Besides retweeting Lewis’ original post (which was kinda weird, if you ask me)

And they did ask him to DM them

Safely in Toronto, Lewis confirmed that the problem still hadn’t been fixed

It’s been over a week and Lewis hasn’t updated on the situation. I’m guessing they DID bring it to DM. I suppose the best Lewis can hope for is that Air Canada will refund him the difference between the seat he paid for and the seat he got. Who knows when/if they will, or if he’ll ever mention it on Twitter?

Of course, every commercial airline around the world has had problems in the post-pandemic world. Usually, it’s more delays and cancellations than being bumped from first class to economy, but still…
