When the Host Hotels REIT purchased the Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World (WDW) for $610 million in 2020, it was evident they had plans for the property. With the current number of rooms on the site, they paid 1.37 million per key, which is significantly higher than any luxury hotel around Disney World.
Apparently, Four Seasons Orlando has plans to build several multi-family villas and mid-rise condos on the property.
The website BlogDisney has acquired the plans that filed with the state to build 9 multi-family villas and a 31-unit mid-rise condo next to the hotel they already operate.
They’ve overlaid the plans over a Google Map of the site to show where the new construction will be in relation to the hotel. In addition, they also have architectural drawings of the villas and the condo buildings.
We’ve visited the Four Seasons a few times and it’s an amazing compound that doesn’t have any of the “Disney” feel, even though WDW is right outside its gates. However, you’re only minutes away from the theme parks when you’re staying there.
When Host Hotels paid so much for the property, it would have been naive to think they didn’t have an expansion on the drawing board. My hope is that they’re able to expand the resort while keeping the secluded feel of the property.
