Grubhub+ Members Get Better Benefits (Free For Amazon Prime Members)

by joeheg

Grubhub was founded in 2004 as a food delivery service and merged with competing platform Seamless in 2013. They’ve become one of the few major players in the marketplace, competing with DoorDash and Uber Eats. Like all these services, Grubhub has branched out and now offers delivery of convenience store items and alcohol (depending on the local restrictions).

Grubhub offers a membership program called Grubhub+. For $9.99 per month, members receive $0 delivery fees and exclusive offers. They’ve recently added a 5% rebate for pickup orders and reduced service fees. If you frequently order from Grubhub, paying the $10 fee may be worthwhile for delivery charge savings on orders over $12 from select merchants.

Amazon Prime members yet a free trial of Grubhub+ for 1 year. The offer was first introduced in July 2022, and existing members received a 1-year extension. If you’ve never signed up for the trial, you’ll receive 1 year from when you activate the offer.

I’m not a frequent Grubhub user, so it wouldn’t make sense to pay for a Grubhub+ membership. However, I signed up for the offer since we already paid for Amazon Prime. This way, if I ever want to use Grubhub, I’ll save on the delivery fee and now I’ll also save on the service fee.

Offers like these are often overlooked, but if you’re already paying for one membership, why not get an additional one for free?
