I’ve Booked My First Domestic Business Class Flight in Years – Now What?

an airplane parked at an airport

I’m about to do something that I haven’t done since 2018. I’m going to fly Domestic Business Class!

Flying domestically in business class wasn’t something I was particularly trying to do. I was looking for a flight home from Las Vegas, and American Airlines had the best value for award tickets. I’d have to have a connecting flight, as the only MCO-LAS non-stops are with Frontier, Southwest and Spirit. I looked at point.me and found a decently priced award ticket in economy class, and I went to the American Airlines website to book.

Once I got there, I saw that American offered a seat in Business Class for 6,000 miles more than the Economy ticket. I’m not paying much more for Business Class, but I’m a buyer if you’re giving it away.

When I was selecting my seat for the trans-con segment of the trip, I saw something I’d never seen before. The opportunity to pick my meal.

Meal Selection on American Airlines

I know this isn’t a new feature, but I’ve never booked a meal on AA. Sure, we used the Book The Cook when we’ve flown on Singapore Airlines, but American Airlines isn’t the same.

I’ve spent some time searching the American Airlines menu, but I’m still undecided about what to order. Apparently, the menu recently changed, and, quelle surprise, most of the Google reviews are outdated.

Based on past reviews, I’m leaning toward the Short Rib (which is no surprise to Sharon). (Note from Sharon: Not one bit) Am I right or is there something else I should be considering?

Final Thought

I’m looking forward to trying out American Airlines Business Class service. I’ll be on an A321, so I know to load the iPad with movies as there’s no IFE. I might also try using the Wi-Fi and getting some work done.
