In the last couple of years, I’ve really started to appreciate Hyatt hotels and the World of Hyatt program. Hyatt’s points are some of the most valuable out there. Even though you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards points to World of Hyatt, it’s always a good idea to grab more points whenever you can. The World of Hyatt cards from Chase come with some great perks for cardholders. We’ve had the personal Hyatt card for several years, but we only recently decided to sign up for the business version.
I hope to add more points to our balances so that we can return to these Hyatt properties in New York City, New Orleans, and Hawaii.

Spending Bonus Categories
The World of Hyatt Business card earns 4X points per $1 spent with Hyatt, including World of Hyatt Experiences.
The card earns 2X bonus points in the top three spend categories each quarter. These are the eligible categories:
- Local transit and commuting, including taxis, mass transit, tolls and ride-share services
- Restaurants, cafes and coffee shops
- Airline tickets purchased directly from the airline
- Shipping
- Social media & search engine advertising
- Car rental agencies
- Gas stations
- Internet, cable & phone services
In addition, cardholders earn 2X bonus points on fitness club and gym memberships.
Charges not in the top three spend categories and all other charges earn 1X bonus point per dollar.
$100 in Hyatt Statement Credits
Cardholders earn a $50 statement credit when spending $50 or more at any Hyatt property up to two times each anniversary year. According to the Chase website:
Qualifying Hyatt purchases are single transactions of $50 or more made at Hyatt hotels and resorts (including at participating restaurants and participating locations that are owned, managed, franchised or licensed by Hyatt Corporation or its subsidiaries or affiliates).
This benefit differs from other cards because they are not monthly, quarterly, or bi-annual. You can spend $50 twice on the same trip and receive both credits.
Automatic Status
World of Hyatt Business cardholders are upgraded to Hyatt Discoverist status for as long as they keep the card. I don’t put much value into this benefit besides giving free premium internet over the standard internet offered to all World of Hyatt members. You’ll also get free bottled water.
Fast Track To Status
One of the perks that some people love about this card is its ability to help you achieve high-level Hyatt status. Every time you spend $10,000 on your card, you earn 5 qualifying night credits towards your next status tier.
Hyatt Leverage
World of Hyatt Business cardholders can enroll in the Hyatt Leverage program. Designed for small to mid-sized businesses, membership usually requires employees to stay for over 50 nights per year in Hyatt hotels. However, cardholders do not have this requirement and can use a Leverage discount code for 5 to 15% off standard hotel rates. The Leverage member receives two bonus elite nights for every $5,000 hotel spent by employees using the corporate code.
10% Redemption Bonus
If you spend $50,000 in a calendar year, you’ll get 10% of redeemed points back for the rest of the year, up to 200,000 points redeemed.
No Foreign Transaction Fees
As you would hope a card marketed to travelers would, the World of Hyatt Business card doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees.
Limitations
Like almost all other Chase cards, the World of Hyatt card is subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. That means you won’t be approved for this card if you’ve applied for more than 5 cards in the past 24 months. Also, current cardholders and previous cardmembers who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months are not eligible for the signup bonus.
Final Thoughts
The World of Hyatt Business card comes with an annual fee of $199 and offers a generous 60,000-point bonus for spending $5,000 within the first three months. Cardholders can earn up to 4X points per dollar spent at Hyatt and 2X points in various categories each quarter, such as restaurants, transit, and gas stations. Additionally, there are valuable benefits like $100 in statement credits at Hyatt properties, automatic Hyatt Discoverist status, and a chance to fast-track to higher-tier Hyatt status through qualifying night credits.
This card is particularly beneficial for businesses with employees who frequent Hyatt properties. It offers discounts and elite nights through the Hyatt Leverage program, no foreign transaction fees and a 10% redemption bonus for high spenders. It might not be for everyone but it’s solid choice for those high spenders who frequently stay at Hyatt hotels and want to maximize their rewards.
