Just when you think you’ve done everything there is to do in New York – the museums, the shows, Central Park, the tall buildings, and everything in between – it turns out there’s one more thing you can do in the Big Apple.
It’s called “Foreplay.”
No, No, No…not THAT kind of foreplay.
“Foreplay” is the miniature golf course at the Moxy’s Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge, located at the Moxy Times Square, 485 7th Ave. between 36th and 37th.
Open since September 2017, the putt-putt course includes flirty animal sculptures (my favorite is the bunny doing a pole dance on 2nd hole, although the oversized teddy bears in the compromising positions in the very top picture are pretty funny too) and topiaries, and has an incredible view of the Empire State Building.
Foreplay is the hot spot of a larger, 10,000 foot self-described “urban amusement park” complex on the Moxy’s roof that includes a total of five environments designed for nighttime adult entertainment, all featuring a carnival atmosphere. In fact, there’s even a small group of chairs that rotate like a carousel while you sip your properly chilled adult beverage. Don’t worry if it’s too cold in the winter, either – they’ve designed the space with a retractable roof.
And if you wind up enjoying too many rounds or want to stick around because your night at Magic Hour is going so…magically…the Moxy has 19 teeny tiny rooms accommodations called “Crash Pads” that start at $99/night.
Moxy is part of the Marriott chain and is known for being a little cheeky (Joe and I stayed at the Moxy in Tempe, AZ last month and loved it. Can you say “Love Sac?”). It sounds as if they’re continuing their eclectic trend with their new Times Square location.
