How To Find Reviews & Info About Airport Lounges Around The World

by SharonKurheg

Say you don’t travel that much but you have enough status, or a specific credit card, or are willing to pay to get into airport lounges here and there – which one should you go to? More importantly, which ones SHOULDN’T you go to? (Hint: we don’t recommend this one) Or maybe you’re on the go all the time and wind up at an airport you’re less familiar with and want help in deciding what lounge to visit. Or perhaps you have a favorite lounge in O’Hare but you don’t remember what terminal it’s in. Well, just like nearly everything else in the 21st century, there’s a website for all of that!

loungereview.com is a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about airport lounges. As of this writing, they have detailed information on nearly 3,000 lounges in close to 1,000 airports around the world, which means chances are really good they have all the lounge information you’re looking for. As they say on their website:

At loungereview, we are frequent flyers who enjoy the journey as much as the destination. We have visited hundreds of airport lounges and know some airports like the back of our hands. We believe that airports aren’t actually dreadful places – if you know the tricks! We are compiling an exhaustive and accurate directory of worldwide lounges offering:

  • An exhaustive and up-to-date airport lounge index.
  • Original photography of hundreds of lounges. When we don’t have original photos, we use pictures provided by the airlines or from Foursquare.
  • Lounge reviews, details on food and beverage offerings, and access policies.
  • Airport maps and directions.
  • Links to expert reviews by travel bloggers.
  • Ratings and user reviews from the loungereview.com and Foursquare communities.
  • Multiple ways to search and browse our index.
  • A community of members – registered users can setup a profile (optionally synchronized with Facebook), comment on lounges, and exchange messages.

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?

Say you’re going to be flying out of Orlando and you want to know what lounges are there. Of course, you just could read Joe’s report on the lounges at MCO, but (and don’t tell him I’m saying this) (Note from Joe: I can see this!) you may be able to get even more information on loungereview.com.

Here’s what you see when you do a search for “Orlando”:

Anyway, let’s say you have an AMEX Platinum card, which means you can get into Delta Sky Club for free, so let’s say you pick that one. Here’s all the info you get when you click on the various tabs of Delta Sky Club…

FRONT OF PAGE: A carousel of photos of the lounge, who the lounge is operated by, what alliance they’re a member of, where the lounge is, its hours, and an option to visit its website. Further down the page are any other lounges that are nearby.

TAB 1: FOOD AND BEVERAGE: the variety of food and beverages available throughout the day (I’m noticing that Biscoff cookies are again NOT on the menu. Grrrr….)

TAB #4 is for FOURSQUARE TIPS and TAB #5 is for any COMMENTS people have left.

That’s the kind of information you’d find for every lounge in their listing. Pretty nifty, huh?

loungereview.com says their airport lounge index is kept up-to-date, so you don’t have to worry if the info they give you is outdated, because it won’t be. They also have a link to their blog to keep you even more informed on all the lounge info out there.

So if you’re ever in need of up-to-date airport lounge information, maybe give loungereview.com a try. It might have just the info you’re looking for.
